Three disconnected systems, rebuilt as one platform
The brief was a frontend refresh on a franchise return portal. Discovery found no usable API documentation and a backend past saving. So we said the unpopular thing. this needs a rebuild, proved it with a POC on the hardest calculations, and then built the platform the business actually needed.

- Next.js · NestJS · AWS Lambda · AWS Glue · Snowflake · Serverless ETL

The system was fragmented, and the numbers couldn't be trusted.
Several tools with no shared architecture, and reporting that depended on a PowerBI licence and somebody's patience.
- Multiple systems, no integration or shared architecture
- No centralised authentication or role management
- Heavy PowerBI dependency for every report
- Inconsistent data pipelines feeding those reports
- No backend foundation worth building on
- No API documentation to work from
What it was costing
- Decisions made on data that was late, or wrong
- Every new module harder to add than the last
- Access control risk growing with headcount
- The system becoming the bottleneck instead of the enabler

One platform, one source of truth
We stopped patching tools and rebuilt the whole thing as a unified platform. validated with a working proof of concept before anyone committed budget to the full build.
- Designed a single platform architecture spanning every module
- Built a centralised identity service for auth, roles, and permissions
- Replaced PowerBI with a web dashboard fed by our own ETL
- Brought in a data engineer and moved to a daily AWS Glue dump from Snowflake
- Shipped APIs that serve reporting data reliably instead of approximately
- Consolidated identity, franchise returns, and network reporting into one login

What it does now
An integrated platform combining identity, reporting, and data infrastructure.
- Centralised authentication with role-based access control
- Rebuilt franchise return portal with accurate calculations
- Web reporting dashboards that retired the PowerBI licences
- ETL pipelines on AWS Lambda and AWS Glue
- Snowflake as the primary data source, synced daily
- Suburb Trends module processing CSV into a reportable database
Every month you leave it manual, you pay for it in salary.
